Agloco - Viewbar Download

Agloco has made its latest announcement that the long-awaited Viewbar will finally be made available for download. It has for the first time committed a date, Monday morning California time (4th June 2007), where emails will be sent out to the first batch of members advising them on the specifics of the downloading once it has completed transferring the software download from its test server to the main server. They do not anticipate there will be problem with the transfer.

All this is made possible after Agloco implemented a workaround for the sticky problem they faced with the ad servers integration. With most of the ad networks connected, the first version of the Viewbar (v1.0), an automatically self-updating software, will be released. The Viewbar is currently available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Vista and will work with IE (Internet Explorer) or Firefox browsers.

After this initial release of the Viewbar, work will concentrate on resolving the remaining outstanding issues with some ad networks and also to add more functionality to the Viewbar.

What this means is that the Viewbar will be officially released for downloading by members in batches commencing on Monday. If you are not yet a member, find out more and sign up for free. You can then download the software, enjoy your usual surfing and still be able to earn some cash.

Sex As Intended

Sex, unlike the food we eat everyday, is not widely, easily or openly discussed in public or even among close circles. Yet, sex is indeed pervasive among us and much more widely practised than discussed. While sex may be accepted more liberally in some countries; it remains a taboo subject in others, only to be practised but not to be discussed. Even today the very mention of the word 'sex' blushes many and causes discomfort to others. Are we guilty of sex? Do we feel guilty of sex?

In the beginning, sex first started in the Garden of Eden between Adam and Eve. In the same garden the very first sin was also committed. Over time and going fast forward, we are here today because of the very first sex which had taken place and we feel guilty of sex today because of the very first sin which had been committed. And from that garden, as lives multiply, guilt and shame propagate amidst sexual affairs falling short of blessing. This is how we see sex in this world today. And this is where we must also change.

But can we undo the sins we had shouldered to become pure again, even in sex? The answer is no but what couples can do is learn how to love and respect each other, preserve the institution of marriage, be fearful of the sanctity of life, so that they can reap the benefits of marriage that God intended.

Even for those who have lost faith in the institution of marriage and where the abstinence from sex is difficult, the sensible approach is to stay with one regular companion. This path will lead to less complication in relationship, in life, and far lesser feelings of guilt.

Truly, sex was intended to be pure and to be a great joy for men and women in procreation. Free from guilt and sin, sex was intended to be shared lovingly between responsible married couples. When two innocent hearts are blessed with love - where their spirits may be joined together in holy matrimony, so may their bodies be joined together in sex.

You have the best of sex when there is an absence of lust. You have the best of sex when the union takes place not just for the body but also for the spirit. You have the best of sex with sex as intended.

Procrastination

What is this word? Why do we procrastinate so often?

In simple terms, procrastination is the delayment of doing a task till a later time. We delay or postpone and sometimes even totally avoid doing something. Most people would simply cover their guilt by saying they have no time. In our busy and hectic life, especially for working people, this may sound reason enough to get by but repeated acts of this nature may cause unpleasant consequences.

I have had the unpleasant experience of losing a molar tooth to procrastination. From a small cavity, I delayed seeing a dentist. It developed to form bigger cavities and yet I postponed treatment. It gave occasional pain, yet again I endured and procrastinated. It was only after the pain became unbearable that I sought treatment from a dentist. But treatment wasn't necessary any more. After the extraction the molar was lost, thanks to procrastination

Procrastination is a social ill and many do it for various reasons. People having a health- threatening condition may procrastinate getting treatment for fear of going through a surgery. Someone may procrastinate to visit the dentist for fear of a tooth extraction. Housewives may procrastinate doing the laundry and ironing when a good tv program is on. Students may procrastinate to study for exam because it is tough to remember information. We want to have things our way, the easy comfortable way so we resort to procrastination to avoid doing the uncomfortable and to remain in our state of comfort.

In most cases, procrastination isn't healthy and can lead to undesirable consequences like losing a tooth or failing an exam. In serious cases, lives may be lost. In some others, watching an exciting tv show first may only necessitate that you complete your laundry and ironing till past midnight.

Wherever possible, let us use the knowledge of our mind to decide when to conquer the reluctant state of our body to move. Or may we be so guided by the living words:

"If you wait until the wind and the weather are just right, you will never plant anything and never harvest anything" - Ecclesiastes 11.4, The Bible.

Mother's Day

A day to show our appreciation and love for our mothers. Mother's Day is celebrated on different day in different parts of the world. In countries like the United States, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May.

For most people the appreciation comes in the form of a physical gift and many would have been wondering what to give to their mothers before the day arrives. Physical or non-physical, Mother's Day gifts may differ greatly from individual to individual ranging from the traditional gifts like chocolates, candies, cakes, finger rings, bracelets, necklace, ear rings and pendants, flowers, plants; to clothings, hand bags, electronic products like mobile phones, computers, music players; to a holiday trip, a dinner, a family outing, and so forth.

Besides asking family members, close friends or even strangers for ideas on the 'perfect gift' (as some may seem struggling to do so), sometimes it's a good idea to simply ask your mother what she likes. Obviously, this takes away the element of surprise in the gift but it is still much better to offer something your mom can appreciate.

If the element of surprise is of utmost importance to you and to your mom, you may want to consider trying this. If you have been close to your mother you would have realised what her wishlist is through your occasional sweet conversations with her. Now, based on that list you proceed with the elimination. Those wishes which are impossible to fulfill like 'world peace' would have to be dropped. Others which are too costly like '10-hectares of rose garden' would again not be possible unless your assets can comfortably accommodate such request. Move on with the elimination and, hopefully, you can succeed in arriving at your 'surprise gift' idea.

I believe simple gestures like a 'kiss', 'I love you, Mom', 'Happy Mother's Day', 'Thank You, Mom' are not worthless gifts at all.

Yes, it's finally here. The Agloco viewbar release is imminent and the first batch of 50000 members shall be downloading it in a matter of days if the persistent problem with the advertising servers integration can be resolved as planned.

Thereafter, the viewbar will be released to each subsequent batch of 50000 members every day until all founding members have downloaded it.

It has been a long wait for some early members. It has been worth the wait for some later ones. It may have surprised those who are skeptical of Agloco's intention. It has been an enriching experience for many members who supported Agloco all the way.

House Pests

Of ants, cockroaches and lizards...........mention them and I'm sure most of us hate them crawling in and around our homes. I find these crawlers a constant nuisance that I'm getting quite acquainted with their behaviours. And this is a plus for me because I can then use this knowledge against these crawlers without the need to use pesticides or call in the pest busters. It's good to tell these house pests that our homes are not their playground.

The ants are blessed with powerful sense of smell. They are able to sniff the presence of food, especially sugary stuff, from many feet away. But they don't see well. They don't see you even when you stand right in front. So just slap on them and kill them. You don't have to hide to get to them. As for your foodstuff, discard them properly using trash bags. You may need double layers of trash bags, if necessary, in order to confine the smell within the bags.

Cockroaches are dumb, real dumb but a great nuisance. They don't see well and they don't smell well. They will fly straight onto your face and happily crawl about without an apology. I think their only sensor are the feelers they have on their head. Even then, the feelers' sensitivity is restricted to very close range, probably in inches. They can appear, uninvited, even when there is nothing in your home to attract them. They release a pungent, oily substance when provoked as a means to help them escape from danger or prey. When they do release such substance, it's awful. You won't like the smell .... trust me!

Now, don't try to chase cockroaches because they are fast. And don't try catching them with your hand because they smell awful and you won't succeed. Instead, use a damp rag or cloth; damp enough to be of some weight. Use the rag or cloth to slap on the cockroach, weaken it, then try and catch it. Using a wooden stick or metal rod helps, too. Once the pest is weakened, use the stick to flip it over so that the cockroach lies on its back. You will find the insect struggling but unable to easily flip back to upright position so you can have all the time to decide how to get rid of the pest.

Lastly, comes the lizards. They are more intelligent. They can see from many metres away, so you have to hide your way to get to them. We hate the shit or wastes or droppings (whatever they call it) lizards left behind. Such droppings stick on your floors and walls. You just have to use detergent to clean up the mess. Lizards hide in holes and crevices in your home in the day and they are active at night. So patch up any hole or crevice in your home and you will see those lizards much less often.

Catching a lizard when it is high up on the wall or ceiling can be quite daunting. A mop or broom can help to chase the lizard away even if it doesn't get killed that way. Lizards have the tendency to shed their tails when they feel they are in danger. They do so in order to create a distraction while giving them time to escape. So don't be easily fooled and go for the lizard rather than the tail.

Of course, lizards also have a fair chance of escaping when under threat. When a lizard does managed to escape after shedding its tail you will need to dispose of the tail before the ants start arriving. The creature is more than happy to escape without its tail. And please don't think the creature is coming back to collect its tail!

Wind Beneath My Wings

Yes......I will never be tired of hearing this song. In the cool quiet morning, this is indeed beautiful music for my ears and for many other ears around the world.

We thank the artist Bette Midler for this opportunity to 'experience the divine'. That's the name of the album. The song is a reminder of what true friendship is about and, more importantly, its value. 'Wind Beneath My Wings' is timeless, nostalgic. Although this great song is a distant memory, you can still get the CD at various stores.

Given the choice, I rather have one true friend than a hundred casual acquaintances. Consider yourself blessed if you do have. Where married couples quarrel and fight to go their separate ways, true friends withstood the test of time and distance. Is this a reflection of the 'affairs of the heart' in different forms?

Love is great. Love is beautiful. Love conquers all. Yet love is such a difficult issue for many to comprehend. They say if you love someone let that someone go, for where the heart is sincere and willing it will find its way back home. But as much as we would like to believe in that, the truth is there are those who treat love lightly, there are those who treat friendship deeply and there are many others in between to blur the line between friendship and love. So if the divorce statistics keep climbing, then wouldn't it be wise to advise lovers "please stay forever friends, don't get married"?

Sometimes it's the heart afraid of giving that never learns to love.

So is Agloco going to be the next big wave? For a site just launched in Nov 2006, there are already 1.8 million results on Google search; and still growing. This is quite phenomenal and I like to think so.

Agloco will be successful if members do finally constitute a huge marketplace to attract advertisers and retailers.

Here I Am

Here I am............it's 11.01 pm, 19 feb 2007. Wish to write but can't for I'm so tired now.

I have been struggling to get Blogger to work. As with all other new stuffs, there is always the learning curve or 'struggling curve' as in my particular case. You read the help section, you try to understand how it works, its unique features, you test run through trial and error, you configure the settings so that the blog suits your purpose. Finally, you make sure the settings do not reveal what you don't want others to see or know, for example, your grandma's full name, haha!

Still, I'm happy because I finally found my way here at Blogger and getting it to work. Today has special significance to me, and it has its moments.
